Ehnes Plays Mozart Rehearsal

Program: FAN members are invited to attend the full rehearsal of Ehnes Plays Mozart, a two-concert series to be presented on December 14 and 15, 2019. The program is led by guest conductor Xian Zhang, Music Director of the New Jersey Symphony, who will be making her NWS debut. The program opens with the overture to Gioachino Rossini’s The Italian Girl in Algiers, a work that shows off the composer’s flair for melodic invention. Next on the program is Mozart’s Violin Concert No. 5 (“Turkish”), one of the repertoire’s most demanding violin concertos; guest artist James Ehnes will be the featured soloist. Closing the program is Sergei Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 6, arguably the composer’s greatest symphony.
Cost: The rehearsal performance is free to FAN Members and Guests.
Lunch: Box lunch with the New World Fellows at the New World Center follows the performance at 12 noon. Gluten-free and Vegetarian lunches are available. Box lunch is $15/person and will be charged if you are a no show. Early RSVP to FAN hosts is a must. Please bring exact cash for lunch.
Parking: Please enter the New World Center via the Administrative Entry. To access this, park in the garage immediately adjacent to the NWC and take the CENTER elevators on the east side of the building to the first/ground floor. In that elevator lobby there is an intercom that connects to the guard desk which will admit you. If you plan to come on foot or by other conveyance, please come to the gate in Lincoln Lane North and use the intercom there. The front entrances will NOT be open.
