Axis of Love: Takht al-Nagham

North Beach Bandshell, 7275 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33141 PROGRAM: Takht al-Nagham is Syrian Music Preservation Initiative's performing ensemble. Based in New York City, the group features a traditional Takht (Arab chamber music group). The Takht is committed to performing the classical and folk Syrian repertoire with traditional acoustic instruments and presents its sets in the manner that they were originally performed. The Takht includes skilled Syrian and non-Syrian musicians who rely heavily on improvisations, and are deeply immersed in the Syrian musical tradition. Takht al-Nagham is led by Founder and Artistic Director, Samer Ali. This performance features acclaimed Syrian Oud virtuoso and musicologist Muhammed Qadri Dalal.
Rhythm Foundation’s Axis of Love series is now in its fifth season.
VENUE: The North Beach Bandshell is Miami Beach’s premier open-air (covered by a canopy) live-music venue. Social-distancing General Admission seating, mask-wearing, and current CDC guidelines will be observed.

PRE-PERFORMANCE DINNER: Funding Arts Network will not plan a pre-concert, restaurant dinner. The Rhythm Foundation offers a pre-sold “Taste of Syria” buffet dinner for $30/person outdoors at the Bandshell, served from 6 PM to 8 PM before the performance. Dinner tickets are available on the Rhythm Foundation website when you buy your concert tickets.
PARKING: The municipal parking lot at 73 rd Street and Collins Avenue is across the street from the Bandshell, and it is FREE after 6 PM. When it is full, look for street parking. Guests are Welcome!
