PROGRAM:  See Vizcaya in a new light as IlluminArts presents Benjamin Britten’s gothic opera masterpiece, The Turn of the Screw. Watch the courtyard of the Main House transform in this unique multimedia experience that draws the audience into the opera’s chilling plot.

The chamber opera The Turn of the Screw tells the ghostly story of an old mansion with expansive gardens and the secrets behind the lives lived there. Designed and directed by Laine Rettmer, this site-specific production weaves together live video, projections, and historical photographs that intertwine the opera’s plot with the intrigue of the lives lived at Vizcaya.

Past New World Symphony fellow and Assistant Conductor of the New York Philharmonic, Joshua Gersen conducts the musicians of Nu Deco Ensemble and a stellar cast.
